Juicing Changes Health for The Best

Juicing Changes Health for The Best

Is there a certain line of defense to engage when you are not well? Is it true that once you hit a certain age things begin to fall apart and youre at the mercy of a life of medication to keep organ systems going? Well, it will be true for you if you believe that. My job here though is to remind you that your body has the greatest potential for healing, and once you taste the triumph when Infinite Intelligence reverses an illness or condition, youll be empowered for life. Youll be invincible.

Everyone needs reminders. They come in the form of a good friend, a spouse, a mentor, a movie like the Secret or What the Bleep, a class or a book. The reminder is simple yet profound and that is that YOU ARE IN CHARGE. You can turn poor health around by going to the root cause of all disease: bad digestion. Bad digestion simply means youve run out of or are very low in digestive enzymes and minerals. Your job now is to eat whole, organic, take digestive enzymes every time you eat and combine your foods properly.

Digesting food takes the first priority in the body mind. Looking for nutrition or cleaning up bad food is the body's first job. I'm searching for ways to emphasize that because it's very important because there in an intense cycle that repeats itself. To understand the cycle allows for healing or disease. When denatured or mineral-depleted foods are the mainstay of the body, the body uses it's supply of pancreatic enzymes to move a bolus of food through the body at any given time. As the body supply runs low food putrefies, disease sets in, the body has little or no energy to heal or restore homeostasis and a person finds themselves in a crisis.

Illness used as an opportunity to heal the entire Being, spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically is the life altering miracle that some people write about. The idea is to eat as much organic raw as possible. Not only is juicing the most effective way to put minerals in and replenish, a juicer is the best pharmacy you can go to. And you dont have to be sick to juice.

There are some really tasty juice combinations. In our home we love carrots, a cucumber, a green apple, celery, spinach, fennel and watercress. The cucumber and green apple lend a lot of juice and cut any heaviness in the carrots and spinach. Carrots are rich in beta carotene, great for the immune system, spinach is rich in folic acid, vitamin E and a great blood builder, celery is rich in potassium, fennel great for the digestive system and cucumber promotes beautiful skin.

Buy a couple of good juicing books and start with those recommendations. Add your own favorite additions for taste preferences. A wonderful mix that does it all for our family is the following for beautiful skin and a healthy immune system: 7 carrots, 1 cucumber, 1 or 2 green apple(s), a handful of parsley and kale. If it seems too green, add some fresh pineapple in there for digestion (bromelain).

Always use organics. To juice non-organic is to ingest an inordinate amount of pesticides in one or two gulps. Pesticides are oil based and most plants are sprayed (grapes) up to thirty times in a growing season. The oil base ensures water will not rinse it off. So juice organic and allow the fresh healthy juice to revitalize and mineralize your body.

As Earth Day is on our minds, take a stand for organic, both for fabrics and foods. Ask store owners to make sure that they do not stock genetically engineered, seedless varieties. Remember that the middle isles of stores contain lifeless food. Eat around the periphery of any store. And although you can have some lifeless in your diet; make 75% real and live food.

If you are healing, there are certain rules of thumb: it is better to not eat than to eat something that will throw the healing process back, drink lots of pure water every day, use only the freshest of everything you put in or on your body, make sure you eliminate several times a day, get lots of rest or meditation time, or both, have people you can trust to talk to, change the way you do things, eat every bite of food with gratitude and consciousness, help a friend, and love yourself above all else so you have more to give to others.

The role of diet in Health, Nutrition and Fitness

The role of diet in Health, Nutrition and Fitness

During pregnancy the mother must increase energy intake. During

lactation, energy intake is also increased. A steady balanced diet is

essential, in the right quantities, throughout life, to maintain healthy growth

and development. The first part of this two part article looks at the

background to nutrition and the digestive process. Part two will conclude

with the role of diet from pre-conception to old age.

Even before pregnancy, diet plays an essential role in preparing the female

body for a normal and healthy birth. Vitamin D deficiency could cause

pelvic deformation, where normal delivery of child would be difficult.

Vitamin B12 deficiency could cause infertility and a history of dieting would

deplete any nutrient reserves in the body, giving rise to infertility and

reduction of nutrients for the foetus.
A diet consists of nutrients. Nutrients are classed as macro, required in

large quantities and micro, required in small quantities. Macro nutrients

include carbohydrates, proteins and lipids (fats). Micro nutrients include

vitamins and minerals. Another product essential for a diet is water. Water

is required in large quantities to aid metabolism, which occurs in an

aqueous environment.
Bread, cereals and potatoes contain carbohydrates, non-starch

polysaccharides (nsp), water, vitamins and minerals.
It is important to have an appropriate amount in the diet for the following

reasons:
Carbohydrates provide energy, which is essential for all metabolic

processes within the body, including mechanical movement, respiration,

growth, repair, cell metabolism, DNA replication, vision, transport within the

body and maintaining homeostasis (constant internal body equilibrium such

as constant blood pressure, body temperature, breathing rate, pulse rate).
Glucose (broken down from carbohydrates) is also required for brain cells

and the central nervous system.
NSP's (fibre) are particularly important in a diet because they act as

roughage or bulk. The nsp's are not digestible and therefore pass straight

through the digestive system. However, because of the increase in the bulk

of food, it passes through the system more quickly than if nsp's were not

digested. NSP's ensure food is not left in contact with the gut lining for

prolonged periods of time, which could have serious health effects,

including cancer.
Meat, fish, pulses contain protein, water, minerals and vitamins, nsp's (in

pulses) and lipids.
Proteins exist in two states, fibrous and globular.
Fibrous proteins have a structural role, eg tendons, ligaments, hair, growth

and structure. Globular proteins function as enzymes which allows cell

metabolism to occur, help in our immune system by producing antibodies

to fight diseases and aid transport, both intra and extra cellular. They also

work as hormones, and for growth and repair of body tissues and in blood

clotting. Too much protein in our diet is removed as waste material; too

little protein in our diet could result in muscle wasting and such diseases as

marasmus and kwashiorkor.
Protein constitutes 12-18% of the body's mass.
Milk and dairy products contain protein, lipids, water, vitamins and

minerals.
Fat and sugar contain carbohydrates, water, lipids, minerals and vitamins.
Lipids are broken down into glycerol (a further source of glucose) and fatty

acid, including essential fatty acids.
The essential fatty acids are components of the body's cells, especially in

the formation of cell membranes. Lack of fatty acids can affect blood

pressure, blood clotting and homeostasis. Excess fat, however, can be

stored in the body in adipose tissues and possibly result in obesity and

related health problems. Although, much obesity is the result of certain

gene deficiency, which will be discussed in more detail in a further article.

Water is Essential For Optimum Health

Water is Essential For Optimum Health

Acceptable water consumption is absolutely essential for optimum health and well being. In truth, after the air you breathe an acceptable water amount is the subsequent vital factor to remain healthy. But what exactly is an adequate water intake?

The common knowledge is that everybody wishes to drink at least eight tumblers of water a day. However , that's merely a general rule. The truth is a lot more personal than that. The water amount each person wishes depends on a bunch of factors. For example, these elements include age, general health, exercise level and the climate you live in.

Let's face it, a younger fit individual sitting on shady swing porch in May will need less water consumption than an older flabby guy cropping the turf on a hot August afternoon. That only sounds correct, right?

It's part of the natural routine to lose water as you go thru your ordinary everyday life of breathing, perspiring and junking body waste products. So it's imperative that you continually replace this water loss. A good rule of thumb is to drink 1 cup of water a day for each twenty pounds of body weight. And more, relying upon the circumstances you are experiencing right now. Just know the feeling of thirst is a sign of dehydration.

Dehydration is a particularly common and pretty heavy condition. The human body is about three quarter's water and a little mild dehydration could cause muscle weakness, fatigue, dizziness, headaches and poor concentration. Science has demonstrated that simply a 5% drop in body liquids may cause up to thirty percent loss of energy. A 15% drop can cause death.

So drinking enough water is good for your health . It can actually be a matter of life and death. But don't think drinking colas, coffee or alcohol is going to offer you the same benefits as water. Though captivating, these possible choices are not really thirst quenchers. Caffeinated soft drinks, coffee and beer ( esp. Lager and wine ) are potent diuretics that stimulate pissing, water loss and further dehydration.

Sufficient water intake not only prevents dehydration, it's also necessary for just about every single metabolic function. Water carries nutriments to each cell in your body. It also removes toxins and wastes from the body, supporting digestion and elimination and preventing bowel problems.

Water also plays an extremely important role in the process of weight loss and weight upkeep. To start with, water assists in the metabolic rate of stored body fat. It's also a brilliant natural appetite suppressant. And, just by drinking water rather than soft drinks, a person can lose up to twenty pounds in a year.

How To Stick To Your Fitness Regime

How To Stick To Your Fitness Regime

If your new year started with pledging an allegiance to a new fitness regime then it's likely that by now your enthusiasm and resolve is waning a little bit .But you aren't the only one, trust me we've all been seduced by the lure of the sofa and a glass of wine when we should really be at the gym.

So, we've established that it's not easy to stick to your regime, but what about the practicality of actually sticking to it?

Well my number one tip would be to choose a form of exercise that you actually like, and you give yourself a fighting chance. A friend of mine spent years trying to incorporate running into her regime when she didn't actually enjoy running. Needless to say, she ended up missing sessions, finding excuses and generally feeling rubbish about her own dedication and exercise itself. Then a chance salsa session changed all that. Dragged along by a friend to a salsa taster session, she fell in love with salsa, decided to learn some other dancing styles and now attends high cardio dance classes 4 times a week, supplemented with pilates for toning.

Another good way to keep yourself on track is to work out with a friend- but make sure you choose the friend wisely. In some fitness partnerships when one person is feeling lazy the other will encourage them and vice versa, or in others there is an undertone of competitiveness and so you are spurred on by training to be as good as, if not better than, them. These are both positive relationships to have for your ongoing fitness as both encourage you to be better, but choose the wrong type of work out buddy and you end up with someone who has a negative impact on your ongoing regime.

My final piece of advice is to remain positive! We're all human and all susceptible to giving up r having a week off, but as long as you can overcome this and get back on track then all is not lost. Try and change the way you view slip ups, so rather than saying " I had a week off, there's no point continuing", challenge yourself to do double next week or add some time onto the sessions you do. Another area where you should change your thinking is when it comes to excuses. If you're aware of the stock excuses you use then you can combat them. So, for example, if you often miss an exercise class because you feel weak after skipping lunch at work, then keep a banana or cereal bar in your kit bag for an energy hit.

Discount Health Care In A Tough Economy

Discount Health Care In A Tough Economy

Because of the current state of the economy, everyone has been looking for ways to save money and do their best to make ends meet. One area with room for savings is healthcare. While health insurance through your job can be quite costly, it is important to strike a balance. You do not want to find yourself with no healthcare. Uninsured costs are just unbelievable these days. Many programs are offering affordable discount health care that works as a fantastic middle ground between expensive coverage and none at all.

This article will cover some of the primary advantages to looking for that middle road where you are saving money but are covered for common health issues and emergency situations. A Discount health plan works well for people in different stages of life, whether you are a part of a low income family or student going through college. The biggest problem with health insurance is that you pay out a large portion of your paycheck on coverage that you may never use. If you are a healthy individual, then shelling out hundreds of dollars a month does not seem very cost effective.

A discount medical plan is much more costly and will be able to take care of the specific areas of coverage you want, instead of a giant umbrella that you will not use the majority of things covered. The ability to cover your family and pick a plan that provides a large discount to scheduled doctor's visit is another great advantage of being able to tailoring your coverage with a cheap health plan. Students can opt for plans that focus more on discounts for the emergency room or other unexpected emergencies, since they do not expect too many regular check-ups.

The options that are available through medical health plans are just unbelievable. You are not restricted by spending limits either, leaving you able to benefit from the plan for every trip to the doctor. The usual mountain of paperwork associated with dealing with health insurance is also removed, the discounts being applied immediately and you do not run into bills later from the medical insurance company because a loophole allowed them to get out of paying for your last doctor visit or treatment. The approval process is also done upfront.

You will know immediately what is covered and what isn't covered, so you will not have to worry about waiting for a doctor you have never met at an HMO to decide if they will pay for a necessary treatment. The provider networks for a health discount plan are usually the largest you can find, which allows you to keep going to the doctors that you have always visited as well as finding one when you are away from home on business or vacation. Cheap health plan may be scary at first because you think that if it is cheap it must be flawed, but taking the time to read through what is covered and what isn't will make the decision very easy and you'll find that the savings are amazing and the lack of fuss is appreciated.

Take the time to look at the other options instead of just accepting your employer's expensive health insurance. Whether you are just a student or caring for an entire family, you can save a great deal of money by choosing from one of the discount medical plans available on the internet.
